Callup.gg — Upload. Improve. Get Called Up.
Effective Date: 2026-05-06
Last Updated: 2026-05-06
Our Mission
Callup is a platform where gamers showcase their skills, find teammates, and level up through coaching. We want every player — from aspiring amateurs to competitive grinders — to feel welcome, respected, and safe. These Community Guidelines set the standards for behavior on Callup.
By using Callup, you agree to follow these guidelines. Violations may result in content removal, account suspension, or permanent ban.
The Short Version
- Be respectful. Competitive banter is fine. Harassment, hate speech, and threats are not.
- Keep it appropriate. No nudity, sexual content, gore, or illegal material.
- Be honest. Don't fake your rank, impersonate others, or manipulate the platform.
- Play fair. Don't promote cheating, exploits, or account boosting services.
- Protect minors. Callup is 13+. Don't target, groom, or exploit younger users.
- Report, don't retaliate. Use the report button. Don't escalate conflicts.
Detailed Guidelines
1. Harassment and Bullying
Not allowed:
- Targeted harassment, intimidation, or repeated unwanted contact
- Doxxing (sharing someone's personal information without consent)
- Encouraging others to harass a user (brigading, dogpiling)
- Sexual harassment of any kind
- Threats of violence, self-harm, or harm to others
- Stalking or obsessive monitoring of another user's activity
Allowed:
- Competitive banter and trash talk that doesn't cross into personal attacks
- Constructive criticism of gameplay (e.g., "you should have rotated there")
- Honest coaching reviews, including negative ones, when focused on the coaching experience
The line: Trash talk about gameplay is part of gaming culture. Attacking someone's identity, appearance, personal life, or making threats is not. If it would make a reasonable person feel unsafe or targeted, it's harassment.
2. Hate Speech and Discrimination
Not allowed:
- Content that promotes hatred, violence, or discrimination based on race, ethnicity, national origin, religion, gender, gender identity, sexual orientation, disability, or serious medical condition
- Slurs, dehumanizing language, or symbols associated with hate groups
- Content that denies or glorifies historical atrocities
- "Ironic" or "joking" use of hate speech — context matters, but impact matters more
We recognize that gaming communities sometimes use language casually that is harmful. Ignorance is not an excuse, but we may educate first-time offenders rather than immediately ban.
3. Sexual and Explicit Content
Not allowed:
- Nudity or sexually explicit material of any kind
- Sexually suggestive content involving minors
- Non-consensual intimate imagery
- Sexual solicitation
Allowed:
- In-game content that may include stylized violence (as is standard in rated-T and rated-M games)
- Shirtless gaming content that is not sexually suggestive
4. Violence and Graphic Content
Not allowed:
- Real-world violence, gore, or graphic injury
- Content that glorifies or incites real-world violence
- Threats of violence (even "joking" threats)
- Graphic depictions of animal cruelty
- Terrorism-related content or propaganda
Allowed:
- In-game violence (gameplay clips, highlights, clutch moments)
- Discussion of in-game violence mechanics in an educational/strategic context
- Coaching content that analyzes violent gameplay scenarios
5. Child Safety
This is our highest priority and is treated with zero tolerance.
Not allowed:
- Any content that sexualizes, exploits, or endangers minors
- Grooming behavior (building trust with a minor for exploitative purposes)
- Soliciting personal information from users known to be minors
- Sharing content depicting child sexual abuse material (CSAM)
Mandatory reporting: We are legally required to report CSAM and child exploitation to law enforcement authorities including NCMEC (National Center for Missing & Exploited Children) and the Canadian Centre for Child Protection.
If you are under 18: Be cautious about sharing personal information. Use the report and block features if anyone makes you uncomfortable. Tell a trusted adult if something feels wrong.
6. Integrity and Honesty
Not allowed:
- Misrepresenting your rank, skill level, or identity
- Impersonating another user, coach, esports professional, or Callup staff
- Using fake or stolen identity information
- Manipulating engagement metrics (fake likes, view botting, follow-for-follow schemes)
- Creating multiple accounts to evade bans or abuse features
- Posting misleading or deceptive content designed to trick users
For coaches:
- Your displayed rank must be accurate and verifiable
- Your coaching qualifications must be truthfully represented
- Reviews and testimonials must be genuine
7. Cheating and Fair Play
Not allowed:
- Promoting, selling, or distributing game cheats, hacks, or exploits
- Advertising or promoting boosting services (paying someone to play on your account)
- Sharing exploit tutorials that violate game developer terms of service
- Account selling or trading
Allowed:
- Discussion of game mechanics, strategies, and legitimate techniques
- Coaching on how to improve through skill development
- Reporting known bugs to game developers
8. Spam and Commercial Activity
Not allowed:
- Repetitive, unwanted, or unsolicited messages or content
- Advertising products or services not related to gaming
- Pyramid schemes, scams, or fraudulent offers
- Phishing attempts or links to malicious websites
- Unauthorized bots or automated accounts
- Excessive self-promotion (posting the same clip repeatedly, spamming LFG)
Allowed:
- Sharing your own gaming content organically
- Coaches promoting their services through their Callup coach profile
- Sharing relevant gaming resources in appropriate contexts
9. Intellectual Property
Not allowed:
- Uploading content you don't have the right to share
- Using copyrighted music, video, or images without permission
- Re-uploading other users' clips without credit or permission
- Using Callup branding, logos, or assets without authorization
Allowed:
- Uploading your own gameplay clips (game publishers generally permit this under their content creation policies)
- Using in-game assets, characters, and UI in gameplay clips
- Fair use commentary and criticism
DMCA: We respond to valid copyright takedown notices. See our Terms of Service for details.
10. Privacy and Personal Information
Not allowed:
- Sharing another person's personal information without consent (doxxing)
- Sharing private conversations, messages, or screenshots without consent
- Recording or streaming private coaching sessions without the coach's permission
- Attempting to discover or share another user's real identity, location, school, or workplace
Enforcement
How We Enforce
- Automated moderation: AI tools scan uploaded content for prohibited material (nudity, violence, CSAM, hate speech). Flagged content is queued for human review.
- User reports: Every piece of user-generated content has a report button. We review all reports.
- Human review: Our moderation team reviews flagged content and reports. We aim to review reports within 24 hours.
Enforcement Actions
We use a graduated enforcement approach, with severity matching the violation:
| Level | Action | Examples |
|---|
| Warning | Content removed + notification | First-time minor violation (e.g., mild spam, borderline language) |
| Temporary Suspension | 24hr–30 day account suspension | Repeated minor violations, single moderate violation (e.g., harassment, hate speech) |
| Permanent Ban | Account permanently disabled | Severe violations (CSAM, threats of violence, doxxing), repeated moderate violations |
| Immediate Ban | No warning, instant permanent ban | CSAM, credible threats, terrorism content, illegal activity |
What Happens When You're Suspended
- Your profile is hidden from other users
- You cannot post content, send messages, or use coaching features
- Your existing content remains visible
- You will receive a notification explaining the reason and duration
Appeals
If you believe an enforcement action was made in error:
- Email appeals@callup.gg with your username and the specific action you're appealing
- Include any context or evidence supporting your appeal
- We will review your appeal within 7 business days
- Appeal decisions are final
Reporting
How to Report
- In the app: Tap the ••• menu on any clip, profile, LFG post, or message → "Report"
- Email: report@callup.gg (for issues that can't be reported in-app)
- Urgent safety concerns: safety@callup.gg (child safety, credible threats, imminent harm)
What Happens When You Report
- Your report is logged and added to our moderation queue
- A moderator reviews the report (typically within 24 hours)
- If a violation is found, appropriate action is taken
- You will not be notified of the specific action taken (to protect reporter privacy)
False reports: Repeatedly filing false or malicious reports is itself a violation and may result in enforcement action against the reporter.
A Note on Gaming Culture
We understand that gaming culture involves competitive banter, passionate debate, and strong opinions. We don't want to sanitize that. Callup should feel like a space where gamers can be themselves.
But there's a difference between competitive intensity and cruelty. We draw the line where behavior makes people feel unwelcome, unsafe, or targeted for who they are rather than how they play.
When in doubt: would you say it to someone's face at a LAN event with their friends watching? If yes, it's probably fine. If no, reconsider.
Changes to These Guidelines
We may update these guidelines as the platform evolves. Material changes will be communicated via in-app notification. Continued use of Callup after changes constitutes acceptance.
