How to Get Scouted in Esports

To get scouted in esports, hold a high rank in one role over time, play organised team competition, and publish footage a scout can verify. Scouts shortlist on rank, then decide on tape, role fit and communication. Here is what they read in each game.

What Callup Gives a Scout to Read

Callup does not get anyone scouted. It puts your rank, role, tape and grades in one place a scout can open from a link.

AI Replay Coach grades

Upload a clip and the AI Replay Coach grades it against the rank you play at, with timestamped notes on what to fix. You choose whether scouts can see your grades, and every scout view of them is logged.

Rank, role and tape in one profile

Your profile holds your self-declared rank and role for each game beside the clips that back them up, so a scout filtering by game, rank and role reads the claim and the evidence together.

A recruiter packet you send yourself

With Pro, generate one link with your ranks, your latest coach grade, your 90-day trend and your tape, and send it to any program, including ones that are not on Callup. The link expires, and you can revoke it.

The Callups board

Callups lists programs, tryouts and team calls, each checked before it is published. Free accounts see the count and the first few listings; Pro sees the whole board and how your profile lines up against what each one states it wants.

Programs scouting on Callup search players aged 16 or older with a date of birth on file, and see an age bracket rather than a birth date. A scout sends an intro, and the chat opens only if you accept. For players aged 16 or 17 the intro text stays hidden until then. You can turn scout visibility off, or hide your grades from scouts, in privacy settings at any time.

Getting Scouted: FAQ

How do esports scouts find players?

Esports scouts find players through ranked ladders, amateur and collegiate competition, referrals from coaches and teammates, and footage players publish themselves. Many shortlist on rank first, then decide on footage, role fit and communication.

How do I get scouted in esports?

Hold a high rank in one role over time, play organised team competition, and publish footage a scout can verify, labelled with your rank, role and the game mode. Then make that footage easy to find in one place a scout can open from a link.

What do college esports programs look for?

College esports programs look for a rank held over time, a clear role, communication and coachability, and academic eligibility, because a player has to be admitted before they can join a roster. They also want footage they can verify, not only a rank screenshot.

Does Callup get me scouted?

No platform can promise that. Callup gives a scout something to read: your self-declared rank and role, your clips, AI Replay Coach grades if you choose to show them, and, on Pro, a recruiter packet you can send yourself. Whether a team reaches out is their call.

Is it free to be visible to scouts on Callup?

Yes. Posting clips, building a profile and being visible in scout search, for players aged 16 or older, cost nothing. Callup Pro adds more AI Replay Coach reviews, the full Callups board and the recruiter packet.
