Tight, slow, narrow street circuit run at maximum downforce. Named corners: Sainte Devote, Massenet, Casino, Mirabeau, the Fairmont (Grand Hotel) hairpin, Portier, the tunnel, the Nouvelle Chicane, Tabac, Swimming Pool and Rascasse. The Nouvelle Chicane after the tunnel is the main heavy braking zone. Overtaking is nearly impossible, so qualifying decides most of the result.
