Esports aid is allocated by the program on top of a normal admission, so admission comes first regardless of how good you are. NACE is the membership body most North American varsity programs belong to, and PlayVS runs competition at the high school and college level, which makes both good starting points for finding schools that field a Siege roster. Siege appears on fewer collegiate rosters than the tentpole titles, so casting a wide net across programs matters more here than it does for Valorant or League.

Operator pool per side is your actual resume

Siege rosters are built around operator coverage on both attack and defence, and a coach needs to know exactly which slots you can fill. A player with a deep, coherent attack pool and one reliable anchor on defence is easier to draft into a roster than a player who claims fifteen operators. State your pool honestly, split it by side, and mark which operators you would be comfortable playing in a competitive collegiate match versus which you are still learning. That distinction is checked in the first scrim.

Intel discipline is the thing coaches cannot see anywhere else

In Siege the round is usually decided by who has information and who does not. Droning before a push, using cameras rather than clearing blind, holding an angle you can be traded off, and calling what you saw are the behaviours that separate a good ranked player from someone who can play in a structured five. None of this is visible from a rank badge, which is why it belongs at the front of your footage rather than buried behind highlights.

In game leading and support roles get recruited fastest

Every program has fraggers. Far fewer have someone who can build an attack plan, assign roles on defence and adjust mid round. If you call, say so in your first sentence of outreach and put a clip of a mid round adjustment near the front of the reel. The same is true for support players who plant, cover and trade rather than open. These are the roles that go unfilled and they are the ones where a slightly lower rank is forgiven.

Start the clip at the drone, not at the kill

Cut in while you are still gathering information. A recruiter needs to see that you knew where the defender was before you peeked. A clip that opens on the shot proves aim and nothing else, and aim is the cheapest thing in the inbox.

Keep the operator, gadget and round HUD in frame

Do not crop. Which operator you were on, what gadgets you had left, the round timer and the objective state are how a coach evaluates whether your decision was correct. Cropped Siege footage is unreadable as evidence.

Include a defensive anchor round, not just entries

Show a round where you held site, played for time and traded correctly, even if you finished with one kill. Anchoring is a real recruited skill and almost nobody puts it in a reel, which makes it disproportionately memorable when you do.

Show one mid round adjustment with the comms if you have them

If you call, include a clip where the plan broke and you re-assigned on the fly, with voice audio if you recorded it. In game leaders are the scarcest role in collegiate Siege and this is the only way to demonstrate it on video.

Label map, side, operator and rank on every clip

Map and side tell a coach whether your knowledge is broad or narrow. Operator tells them your slot. Rank and date tell them the lobby quality and whether the season is current. Unlabelled footage is assumed to be the most flattering possible interpretation, which coaches then discount.

Keep it short and link a full unedited match

Sixty to one hundred and twenty seconds of edit, then one complete recent match behind it. Siege rounds are long and a coach who is interested will want to watch a full one, so make it easy for them.
